IALA joint session at IALE 2025

A joint session of IALE & IALA will be organized at the IALE Landscape Ecology Congress, Bratislava, Slovakia, 2-5. September, 2025. https://iale2025.sav.sk/

  • Session 2C – Tracing Back Historical Land-Use and its Legacies: Common Insights and Perspectives of Landscape Archaeology and Historical Landscape Ecology

The first such joint session was organised on the Landscape Archaeology Conference last year (Bridging historical landscape ecology and landscape archaeology: common questions and challenges in a rapidly changing world).

These joint sessions aim to strengthen collaboration with landscape archaeologists and landscape ecologists, so the IALE Working Group Historical Landscape Ecology and IALA await your abstract submission for this session (deadline 14.03.2025.)

Landscape 6 in Siena

The 6th edition of the LANDSCAPE Conference, entitled ‘Landscape 6: A Synthesis of Diachronic Elements’ (https://lnkd.in/dHfNx2cQ) is currently preparing its final program. The previously Italian young researchers conference has turned international, and they are collaborating with IALA to make this the go-to student, PhD and early postdoc landscape archaeology conference. This three-day conference, which will also be streamed, is organised in partnership with the ‘Consulta Nazionale di Topografia Antica’ (https://lnkd.in/dFzQHB6H), the Department of History and Cultural Heritage at the Università di Siena, the Landscape Archaeology & Remote Sensing LAB, the Santa Chiara Lab – Università di Siena, and the Municipality of @Siena.
